  1. Nice timing, I’ve been watching season 5 and 6 through Netflix and just watched this one, along with OMWF. Can’t wait ti listen to it 🙂 I may comment again!

  2. I agree with you, Kim, that Giles shouldn’t have left. It didn’t seem in character for Giles, either. I suspect it was done be the writers to heighten drama. Buffy IS clearly seriously depressed, and being asked to take on adult responsibilities that most people her age don’t have and are not prepared for. It seems like she has enough to deal with without the only adult in her life leaving her.
    I am glad that you mentioned the Michelle Branch song, I don’t listen to pop music, either, so it was new to me as well. I love that song, the lyrics are so poignent and so appropriate for that moment in the show. When I watch Buffy and Spike kissing I think of the part of the chorus that says “you were the one I loved, the one thing that I tried to hold onto” and how Buffy is, at that moment, letting go of the person she was, the person she has been struggling to be again, and embracing a new, darker self.
